Description automatically generatedDr. Roberta Mix, known as Bobbi, is a retired osteopathic physician. She is the designer of a new technique called "shirred quilting", which is known by the trademark KWILTSHIRE. Bobbi lives in The Villages of Florida with her husband who is an avid golfer. Bobbi designed "shirred quilting" after taking several quilting classes during the 1970's gas crisis. She felt that she couldn't make the beds in her home look smooth, so she created a design that was three dimensional and hid all the lumpy blankets. Bobbi's mother and grandmother were both quilting artists, and they left all their children and grandchildren unique quilts as part of their legacy. Even though Bobbi designed the "shirred quilts" in the 1970's, it is only now that the technology has advanced well enough to enhance the designs and improve the construction process. Bobbi has applied for and received a patent of the template and methods. She has also copywritten the designs and instructions. The most important message that Bobbi wants to give is that she wishes to share the technique with anyone and everyone who wants to create their own "shirred quilts".
